The Old Court House is the perfect base for your Solway Coast adventure! You’ll be surrounded by charm and character in the Victorian seaside town with its cobbled streets and colourful buildings, traditional arcade and a community green with plenty of events on throughout the year. Take a stroll to Silloth West Beach, where you can enjoy long dog-friendly sandy shores and scenic views over to Scotland. Back in town, you’ll find a range of amenities including great pubs, restaurants and lovely gift shops.
There are lots of nice places to eat in Silloth, including the local fish and chip shop which is fantastic (just a couple of minutes from The Old Court House) and there is also a great tapas bar called The Bank. If you fancy cakes and hot chocolate, there is a wonderful café called the Fairy Emporium just down the road.
We have good takeaways in Silloth, and there is also a bar called Sugar which has a simple menu and marvellous cocktails!
At the top of the street is JayBee’s – it sells everything you can think of from hardware to household goods and food.
It goes without saying really that there are some wonderful walks around here. The beaches are dog-friendly, and the views spectacular. Allonby is only a short distance drive away and serves some of the best ice cream around. There’s plenty to see and do.
